WELTON AND DISTRICT PATIENTS AND DOCTORS ASSOCIATION MAY 2010 NEWS

The  Co-operative Society has offered the PDA the chance to hold a Community Dividend Card. If anyone would like to support the PDA (whether or not you use the Transport Scheme) and you don’t have a dividend card of your own, then please let me know. You will be issued with a card which is linked to the master card and at the end of the year the Co-op will convert all points collected into cash. This amount will then be doubled by the Co-op and a cheque will be sent for PDA funds. This is an excellent way of generating income to support our Transport Scheme and who knows when they may need to use it themselves? If you are interested in helping, or know anyone who might be, please give me a call on 01673 862570

The Autumn Fayre is planned for Saturday 9th October and we still have some tables left for hire at £5 each. If you would like to raise money for your own charity or for yourselves please contact either Roy Minnitt 01673 860980 or myself 01673 862570

WELTON AND DISTRICT PATIENTS AND DOCTORS ASSOCIATION AUG 2010 NEWS

On behalf of the Welton PDA Voluntary Car Scheme I would like to thank the 'grateful patient' for their anonymous donation of £100 towards the running of the scheme and to pass on their thanks to all the Volunteer Drivers. The car scheme relies heavily on donations to supplement the money raised through fund raising and it is also nice to receive the thanks and gratitude of the people we transport.

SATURDAY 9TH OCTOBER AUTUMN FAYRE

We will be holding our annual Autumn Fayre at the Welton Village Hall from 2pm till 4pm

If you have any good quality bric a brac, tombola prizes or anything bottle or glass for the bottle stall please contact us on either of the phone No’s below.

There is also a couple of tables left to hire (£5.00 per table) if you are interested contact Roy Minnitt 860980 or Janet Goddard 862570

We are very fortunate to have a patient liaison group attached to the practice who provide a communication link between ourselves and our patients. All registered patients are ‘members’ and new committee members are always welcome. Meetings are held every 4-6 weeks in the surgery.

WDPDA provide an invaluable transport scheme for those patients who are otherwise unable to attend the surgery or hospital appointments (a small charge is levied for this service to cover costs). This service is operated by volunteer drivers who give their time for free. New drivers are always welcome, even if you can only spare one day per month - please ask staff for details.

WDPDA does a sterling job raising funds via various activities for equipment etc which is given to the practice to use for patient care. Over the years well over £30k  has been raised or donated and we are grateful for this assistance.

Further details regarding the WDPDA are on their noticeboard in the waiting room.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS

We would just like to say a big THANK YOU to all the Volunteer Drivers for managing to keep all the appointments for patients during the bad weather we have recently had

INCREASE IN CHARGES

We are very sorry to inform patients that due to funding being withdrawn by West Lindsey District Council to our car scheme, we have unfortunately had to take the decision that all journeys to and from the Health Centre will have to be charged at 40p per mile.  This will take effect from 1st April 2009.

SPRING LUNCH

We would just like to remind everyone of the spring lunch.  This will take place on Friday 8th May in the village Hall, Welton.  Doors will open at 11.45 with lunch being served at 12.15pm.

The menu will be a glass of orange juice, roast pork with apple sauce and the usual vegetables to be followed by Trifle or Bakewell and a relaxing cup of tea or coffee with an After Eight Mint. The price is £4 and tickets are available from The Dispensary @ Welton Health Centre, Mrs Olive Sharland 860174, The Spar Shop, Dunholme 860129 and Roy Minnitt 860980.

In addition we are planning the usual raffle and cake stall and the bar will be open for those who wish to partake of additional liquid refreshment, but please note this is not included in the ticket price!

All money raised will be going to the transport scheme.
